The public milestones are clear: Kim Kardashian and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, dated, married and had four children. Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, and it was finalized in November 2022. Much of that relationship unfolded in the celebrity spotlight.

A school run or a disagreement inside the family is a different kind of information. Seeing one parent photographed with the children does not establish the daily work in either home or the children’s feelings. It is not enough, on its own, to call Kardashian effectively a single parent.

Engagement and a wedding

The couple’s engagement came in 2013, when their daughter North was also born. Their wedding took place in Florence in May 2014. The family grew with Saint’s birth in 2015, Chicago’s in 2018 and Psalm’s in 2019.

Viewers saw appearances through Kardashian’s television work as well as celebrity reporting. A familiar face and a familiar family can make the public timeline look complete. Yet a social post or filmed celebration shows only the part selected for an audience, leaving much of ordinary family life outside it.

Separation and divorce

Kardashian’s February 2021 filing set a divorce process in motion while she and Ye continued their public careers. Stories about disagreements ran alongside news of later relationships and work, making it easy for events from separate years to become tangled.

The dates still matter. A controversy after the filing is not evidence of why it happened earlier. An account of motives needs the people’s own statements or support in the legal record, rather than a narrator filling the gaps.

Divorce ended the marriage without ending their connection as parents. The children are people with lives of their own, not a way to establish who has won an adult dispute in public.

Ye's public apology

In September 2022, Good Morning America aired an interview in which Ye discussed co-parenting and apologized for stress he had caused Kardashian. It was his public account at that time. The interview did not provide an independent view of either parent’s everyday conduct.

A relationship timeline can include the remarks without pretending to know what the family said privately. The same applies to weddings and legal filings: they establish public points in the history, not every arrangement or feeling between them. Keep the date attached when an interview comes around again, rather than making an old remark sound newly spoken.
